TRIUMPH ORIGINALS | BRET JOHNSON and VICTOR TULLI
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

The Triumph platform is a great foundation to build just about anything you can imagine. Its simple, straightforward design feels like starting with a blank sheet of paper, offering endless creative possibilities.
For me, the bigger the displacement, the better. The T120 is my favorite model to customize — it’s an iconic bike that continues the 66-year heritage of the original Bonneville, making it the perfect canvas for a custom build.
Growing up in a racing family and working on an IndyCar team in Indianapolis shaped my approach to motorcycle building. I bring a racing mindset to every project, where form follows function and simplicity is always the key.
"My initial response was, We’re winning this thing”
What influences and inspirations shape your design and craftsmanship?
"Racing. Indy being the Racing Capital of the World has no shortage of influences and inspirations. It’s in the air, so we breathe it in every day and it’s bound to find its way out."
What made you want to enter Triumph Originals?
"With extensive experience in building custom motorcycles and just recently becoming part of the team at Triumph Indianapolis, it was a no brainer."
What aspect of British culture has influenced your response to the brief?
"Monty Python. We like to have fun here and keep things lighthearted."
What are the key ideas behind your custom Bonneville build for this competition?
"A performance-based street bike borrowing heavily from the racing heritage that Indianapolis is synonymous with."
What should people notice and appreciate about this custom bike?
"They should notice that simplicity does not equate to boring. There are customizations to discover all over this build. This is not a simple T120 anymore, but a beautiful one-of-a-kind amalgamation."
